Privacy Policy

1 Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to run your internship account:

• Account details — your name, email address and phone number. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account (see section 2). If you sign in with your phone, we verify the number with a one-time code.
• Program details — the internship domain, plan and batch you choose, and your student ID.
• Payment details — payments are processed by Razorpay. We receive the Razorpay order and payment IDs, the amount and whether the payment succeeded. Your card, UPI or bank details are entered on Razorpay's checkout and never reach our servers.
• Project submissions — the files, GitHub links and notes you submit for review.
• Messages — your name, email and message when you contact us.

Automatically collected data: when you visit the website, our servers and service providers receive your IP address, browser type, device and operating system, and the pages you view. We use this to keep the service secure (for example, rate limiting and fraud prevention) and to operate advertising as described in section 5.

2 Google User Data

What we access. When you choose "Continue with Google", IntearnShip uses Firebase Authentication (a Google service) to receive your Google account's name, email address, profile picture and account ID. We request only the basic sign-in scopes (openid, email and profile). We do not access your Gmail, Google Drive, Contacts, Calendar or any other Google account data.

How we use it. We use this data only to create your account, sign you in, show your name on your dashboard and certificate, and contact you about your account and internship.

How we store it. Your name and email address are stored in our application database. Sign-in credentials are held by Firebase Authentication. All data is transmitted over HTTPS.

How we share it. We do not sell Google user data or use it for advertising. We share it only with service providers that run features you use: Google Firebase for sign-in, and Razorpay, which receives your name and email address to fill in the checkout when you choose to pay. We also disclose it where the law requires. We do not use Google user data to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models.

Retention and deletion. We keep this data while your account is active. To delete your account and the Google data associated with it, email support@intearnship.in. You can also remove IntearnShip's access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page.

3 How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your IntearnShip account
• Enroll you in your chosen internship domain, plan and batch
• Process your payment through Razorpay and activate your plan
• Review your project submissions and issue your certificate on completion
• Send you updates about your internship progress, deadlines and announcements
• Respond to your questions and support requests
• Keep the service secure and prevent fraud or unauthorized access

4 Data Security

We protect your information with:

• Sign-in handled by Firebase Authentication — we never receive or store your password
• Session tokens that expire automatically, plus CSRF protection on every change you make
• HTTPS encryption for all data between your browser and our servers
• Payments handled entirely on Razorpay's PCI DSS-compliant checkout, plus access-controlled storage for project files
• Role-based access, so only authorized staff can view student records

No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify affected users of any breach as required by law.

5 Cookies & Advertising

We use a small number of cookies:

• Essential cookies — keep you signed in and protect your account against cross-site request forgery. The site does not work without them.
• Advertising cookies — some pages show ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites.

You can turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings, and learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services on Google's partner sites page. We do not use third-party analytics cookies.

6 Data Retention

We keep your data only as long as needed:

• Account data — for as long as your account is active, and up to 2 years after deletion
• Certificate records — indefinitely, so employers can verify your certificate
• Payment records — for 5 years, as required by Indian tax and financial regulations
• Contact messages — for 1 year after your request is resolved

You can ask us to delete your personal data at any time. Some records may be kept where the law requires it.

7 Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete data
• Deletion — ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention requirements
• Withdraw consent — stop us processing your data, including revoking Google sign-in access
• Object — object to certain uses of your data

8 Service Providers

We rely on these providers to run the service. Each processes data only to provide its service to us:

• Google Firebase Authentication — sign-in with Google, email or phone
• Razorpay — payment processing; receives your name, email, phone number and plan amount to complete checkout
• Google AdSense — advertising on some pages
• Vercel — website and API hosting
• Cloud file storage — project files you submit
• Google Fonts and Unsplash — typography and images; no account data is shared

Razorpay handles your payment under its own privacy policy, and your bank or UPI provider's terms also apply to the transaction.

9 Children's Privacy

Our services are for people aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If we learn that a child under 16 has given us personal information, we will delete it.

10 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be posted on this page with a new revision date. Continuing to use the website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
